For the last several months you may have been hearing about the “Rebirth of the West End”. This historic district located in the heart of downtown Dallas’ Central Business District has been known to many natives as a long lost hub for entertainment and tourism. Well, that is all about to change. This seemingly forgotten area of Dallas is rebounding and in a big way. We have already seen some great changes with the move of the Dallas Entrepreneur Center to The West End and the recent announcement of The Bue Cross Blue Shield Innovation Lab moving into the old West End Marketplace (now called Factory 603) With the pending launch of the Smart Cities Living Lab created by The Dallas Innovation Alliance through a public-private partnership with the City of Dallas and several key partners including Dallas-based AT&T is launching later this month and will include several different projects including Smart Lighting, Free Public Wi-fi, Smart Public Safety measures and even different sensors built in to track environmental change and much much more.
Here is an interview that we out in front of the Dallas Entrepreneur Center with NBC 5’s Brian Scott about what to expect through this new Smart Cities Lab and the entire West End District, newly coined as the Dallas Innovation District for the future.
