What Entrepreneurs Say About Us

“Coronavirus is re-shaping how our business operates in today’s fluctuating market.  Funding through the DEC has allowed us to reinvigorate our marketing efforts, stabilize our payroll, and continue on a high-growth track.”

“There are only two businesses left in the food court where they are located. They thought they were going to have to close their doors for good and let go of all their employees. This funding allowed them to keep our staff and stay in business. “We are so grateful to all of the donors and partners that support Revive Dallas which provided operating funds for our business during this difficult time.  Kuai Asian Kitchen is a small restaurant company with our original location in the Republic Center office towers in downtown Dallas.  As a restaurant located in the bottom of a high-rise office tower, we have been devastated by the effects of COVID-19.  With the funds we received from the Revive Dallas loan, we feel optimistic that we will be able to survive the downturn and ultimately bring back all of our employees.  During the last 14 years we have never needed the support of our community more than now and we are truly grateful for the generosity that will allow us to keep our dream alive and keep our team employed.”

“Her revenue went down to $0 once travel bans started, and corporations stopped booking conferences and company travel. She has been in business for over 15 years and has never had an impact on her business that she has experienced this year. She books revenue nearly a year in advance and no longer has anything booked for next year. This money allowed her to pivot her business so that she can still provide value to her partners and stay in business next year.”

”I am so grateful for this funding opportunity that Revive Dallas has provided me. Without it, my business would have been in jeopardy. This funding has allowed me to continue to support female artisans and the Dallas-Fort Worth community, while offering beautifully designed, ethically made clothing to moms for their littles. Thank you from the bottom of my Cheeni heart!”

“The loan program not only provided me with the capital I needed to re-tool my business, it forced me to re-examine all aspects of my business, accounting, marketing, and my position in the marketplace.

The ‘Mentoring Program’ introduced me to Meaders Ozarrow, who mentored me helped me to look at my business in brand new ways which turned out to be one of the best experiences of my career…. what an honor.Thank you for the wonderful opportunity that you have provided with these funds to take my business to the next level. The loan and the program have taught me how to better organize the business financials and goals.

The mentoring program is the most inspiring and helpful thing I have ever experienced in my business career, the honor to be working with such an Amazing woman Meaders Ozarrow its been inspiring and challenging. I have grown to be more focused and resilient. Not only in the creative aspect of the business but also in the administrative part.

“Start-up enterprises operate in crisis mode.  They know their product or service, they believe in their potential, they put in long, long hours and are stuck trying to be all things for their company,  founder, CEO, salesperson, developer, accountant, financial wizard, marketer, and IT genius.  You name it, they do it.  And it can be overwhelming.   Owners find themselves shifting from working “in” their business to putting out critical fires.  Working “on” their business takes a distant back seat.  The Fast Start Mentoring Program provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to receive help in navigating that chaos and identifying what is really crucial to move the business forward, then help the entrepreneur develop a way to do it, and to measure the results.  Establishing this firm foundation, all at no charge to the start-up, can be the pivotal point in whether a business can succeed and prosper, barely stay alive, or go under.

It’s what we do at DEC and RTI, and I’m very proud to be a part of both.   So glad for our partnership.”

“Mentoring is for business owners that believe they have every right to delight as many customers as possible as fast as possible.  If that sounds like you, let’s get started.  We’ll craft out your next 90 to 120 days and plan your weekly action items to stay on track.

We’ll remove the time, team, money, and system challenges left behind in this Covid19 mess.  We’ll refocus your business capabilities into more productive and profitable processes that attract and retain more customers.

You don’t have to go it alone.  Connect with the DEC Network mentors.  There are plenty of mistakes to be made today, capitalize on their perspective.  You’d have to be crazy not to participate and improve your probability of success serving more customers.”

“As a DEC Network loan recipient, the impact of the funds presented at an opportune time so that we can continue to pursue our start up digital healthcare venture. Prior to the covid-19 awareness, we were on track to have our first specialty platform available the first week of June. Our progress was stalled and we were at a loss to continue, especially given our offering would align with treating patients remotely to ensure they could reduce the chance of infection while still getting quality care from their doctor. The loan from the DEC Network allowed us to pick back up with our development partner. As a result of the generosity from the DEC Network, its donors, and partners our mobile healthcare app will launch in the next few weeks and will benefit the community.”

“Dallas Revive has given me back hope. After 2 months in lock down with no sources of income, I had started developing a plan to be able to work remotely and find new virtual avenues to get in touch with new clients.
The funds generously awarded by Dallas Revive will be used to set up the business to be able to operate remotely and to grow sales to support more employees. The advice by talented and experienced mentors made me feel more comfortable in making important decisions regarding the growth of the business and the investment in expensive equipment that will sustain it.

I now have a positive outlook on the future of my company and I feel energized and fully committed to work hard and to keep searching for opportunities in spite of the challenging times.

When I moved to Dallas twenty years ago I knew it was a business-friendly city. Now I have the proof that Dallas and Dallasites really care for their businesses and believe that supporting them in the worst crisis in a century will help support the community.I am really grateful for this opportunity and I’m working hard to give back to my community. Thank you!“

“The DEC Revive Dallas LiftFund comes at the most crucial time. We are upgrading our equipment and infrastructure to carry out our business operations in the SAFEST way possible. The fund will also greatly enhance our remote and virtual wings. This will allow us to emerge from the pandemic not just intact, but internally stronger. We are incredibly grateful.”

“The timing of the Revive Dallas Fund loan couldn’t have been better. Having to pivot to offer virtual services during the pandemic, our decade old electronic equipment has started to struggle to keep up with the use demands necessary to provide telehealth music therapy, performances, and music-based mindfulness services online. This loan will help jumpstart necessary upgrades towards more reliable equipment to enable continuity in serving the community during a time where therapy and socio-emotional wellness services are critically needed.”

“The DEC in partnership with LiftFund through Revive Dallas Small Business Relief Fund gave me the financial boost I needed to pivot and grow my business during COVID-19. The consistent theme of running my business right now is “adapt/change.”’ I am very honored and grateful for the support I received from The DEC (Dallas Entrepreneur Center), LiftFund, and the entire Revive Dallas Small Business Relief Fund Sponsorship & Mentorship Community!”

“When COVID-19 lead to shelter in place orders, this had an immediate impact on my ability to serve clients and to continue working. The lost of revenue, would have been catastrophic without the LiftFund. The LiftFund gave me the financial support needed to pivot and grow my business. I was able to make changes to my business format, from an in-person practice to a telehealth practice. I was able to update my website, maintain my office via paying rent, update software and technology, marketing, and gain needed training to provide the best services to clients. Furthermore, the fund meant I had some resources to rely on to pay myself a minimal amount in the gap of waiting like the millions of others on unemployment while reinvesting revenue back into the business. This was especially helpful, given the obstacles in securing the government resources promised via the CARES Act. Ultimately, I am grateful for the LiftFund and thankful I don’t have to think of the alternative.”

“I think the Fast Start Mentoring program is a great initiative and am honored to be one of the mentors a part of it..  I have worked with aspiring and budding Entrepreneurs for over 10 years now, and doing so is truly a passion of mine.  What I have learned over the years is that, there are always questions to be answered and processes to be made simplified, but having the right connections and programs within reach provides a layer of hope for those that need it the most.  I enjoy being a resource for those that may not have access to the resources needed to be successful in business, however, programs like Fast Start allow people to connect with subject matter experts in a way that eliminates many of the barriers faced with seeing assistance or getting quality service.”
